We saw so many exciting things happen 2014… Metro Eye moved to a fabulous new space on Chicago Street, the United States soccer team put up a good fight in the World Cup, and the eyewear industry began making a fabulous transition to colorful, metal frames.
That being said, we think those of you who have been caught up with the fast pace of city life should slow it down a notch, and see what Wisconsin has to offer (outside of Milwaukee!) this year.
Here is our list of the top 3 things to SEE in Wisconsin in 2015 (compared to some of our favorite designer frames!):
1. House on the Rock
Where: Spring Green, WI
Similar to: Lindberg (Simple concept, with hidden “wow factors”.)
Why you should go see it: This place might sound simple… it’s a house on a rock… but in reality there is so much more to it. Without giving too much away, let us just say ALL of your senses will be delighted!
2. EAA AirVenture 2015
Where: Oshkosh, WI
Similar to: Rudy Project (Ideal for outdoor activities, whether you’re an active participant or an audience member. Can’t beat polarized lenses for skyward viewing!)
Why you should go see it: Not only is the EAA museum incredible, this AMAZING air festival will have you looking at flight in a whole new way… not to mention possible celebrity sightings from enthusiasts like Harrison Ford.
3. Apostle Islands
Where: Lake Superior (off the shores of Bayfield, WI)
Similar to: SALT. (Their newest collection was inspired entirely by breathtaking outdoor landscapes.)
Why you should go see them: No matter what the season is, you will find yourself in awe when you visit these beautiful islands! Just imagine snowshoeing out across Lake Superior to explore hidden caves and frozen waterfalls. Or, for those of you who like to hibernate in the winter, these islands are perfect for kayaking and camping adventures once the ice melts. (After all, nothing beats a s’more under the stars!)
Whichever sights you see this year, and whether you stay local or go off to explore the world, we hope you have a wonderful 2015! And of course, don’t forget to stop in and SEE us, too!
