Jennifer came to the optical profession by accident, when she took a job managing the busy front desk of an optical clinic in Washington. She was quickly interested in the multifaceted work that opticians do. Helping a patient choose a perfect frame for their face shape and personality spoke to her love of fashion. Doing adjustments and repairs allows her to do delicate detail work with her hands. Learning how to use a lensometer and learning formulas to create the best possible pair of glasses for a patient… that fit perfectly with the geeky, cerebral side of her. So, in 2013, she convinced her optical manager to take her on as an apprentice and by 2015 she had earned her certification from the American Board of Opticianry.
Jennifer loves the frames lines of Anne & Valentin— for their bold, geometric shapes and Georgio Nannini— for their unique designs and bold use of color. Both of these designers create frames that are essentially wearable art for your face.
