I guess it’s the same old story… 2015 came and now it’s nearly gone. However, that doesn’t mean we should move on so soon!
This past year was a pinnacle one for the fashion industry. Styles are beginning to once again shift dramatically into a new age of fashion. This is especially true for the eyewear industry, where frames continue to become thinner, lighter, more customizable, and more functional. Haven’t stayed up-to-date? That’s okay, because in order to prepare ourselves for 2016, we would like to first highlight three of 2015’s best-kept eyewear secrets:
Designer: NW77th
Collection: Furniture Collection
Inspired by, well, furniture, NW 77th’s new Furniture collection takes texture and pattern to a whole new level. Not only are these frames beautiful to look at, the level of comfort you’ll feel wearing these specs can only be likened to relaxing on your favorite davenport. In 2015 a lot of designers turned to the environment for inspiration, NW 77th takes this to another level by driving inspiration for a new kind of environment, and one that we’re surrounded by more often than not.
Designer: Derapage
Collection: Tornado Collection
Taking a step back to the outdoors, Derapage recently came out with a collection that’s a bit unexpected… their Tornado collection. Instead of taking something beautiful and creating a design around it, this incredible designer line has found inspiration from something terrible and created something gorgeous around it. In addition, the collection comes in a variety of colors and textures, including something dubbed the Corten Effect that gives off a rusty look and feel. Tastefully done, this effect utilizes a beautiful shade of rust red, and even a very, very slight rust inspired texture.
Designer: Etnia Barcelona
Collection: Vintage Collection
Three years in the works, Etnia Barcelona’s Vintage Collection has been an amazing success in the months since its launch. Two incredible components of this collection are the snap on sunglasses. These meticulously engineered lenses fit almost any rounded frame within the line, and come in both green and brown tints. Ultimately the Vintage Collection does an exceptional job of promoting our three essentials: fashion, functionality and healthy vision.
